Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marc Read (ranked 866 p4p, 1439 weight class) and Jacks Sole (ranked 115 p4p, 182 weight class). Marc Read had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

With a record of 7 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jacks Sole!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, William Gold and Richard Clark.

Read bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Read with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sole to score with a decent uppercut.

Read went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Read takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Sole with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Read ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sole moves away.
It seemed like Sole was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Sole is fighting to break Read's control of his arms but Read is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Read avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Sole with a flurry of punches that miss.
Sole looking to sit in guard and control but Read gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Read might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Sole working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Read doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Read manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jacks Sole has got the better of the ground game so far.

Read is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sole defends it well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sole is stalling here. Read is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Sole seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Read has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
You can see the frustration on Sole's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

In defeat, Jacks Sole stepped up to the mic, saying 'Shit happens, I'll learn from this.'.
