Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Marchand (ranked 6050 p4p, 3260 weight class) and Micheal Bond (ranked 473 p4p, 325 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jacques Marchand!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Micheal Bond!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bond lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Marchand throws a head kick that misses.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Marchand crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Bond - the referee stops the clock and Marchand gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Bond. Marchand manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Bond misses with a head kick.
Bond throws a quick inside leg kick.
Marchand clinches up with Bond and pushes him back against the cage.
Marchand throws a head punch that misses.
Bond tries to circle away but Marchand has him pinned against the cage.
Marchand doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Bond is trying to break the clinch but Marchand is controlling him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marchand pulls Bond in close to prevent any damage.
Marchand bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bond's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marchand is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Marchand stands and throws Bond's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Marchand scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bond to see if he's OK.

Marchand is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bond is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Bond is trying to escape the position but Marchand is controlling the position.
We've been hearing good reports from Marchand's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Bond is working to avoid the ground and pound but Marchand connects with a decent elbow.
Marchand is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Marchand stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Marchand misses with a double jab.
Bond feints the counter takedown.
Bond is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Bond connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Marchand's hands.
Marchand takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Bond lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bond feints and then cracks Marchand's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Marchand down.

Marchand tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Bond has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bond moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Bond slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Marchand tries for a takedown but Bond sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Marchand on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Marchand shoots in looking for a takedown but Bond manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Marchand's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bond scores with a kick to the body.
Marchand chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bond can pounce on him.
Marchand on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Bond. Bond obviously looking to wear him down.
Marchand is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Marchand gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Bond. Marchand shrugs it off though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Micheal Bond dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bond, as that shot connected.

Marchand swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Marchand closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bond did well to prevent Marchand getting side control.
Marchand wants to work for an arm triangle but Bond is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bond tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Marchand manages to move to mount!
Marchand is landing with some decent strikes but Bond is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Marchand avoids the attempt from Bond to control.

Bond really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marchand. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Marchand won't let Bond get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Bond has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.

Jacques Marchand overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Marchand is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Bond with him. Bond is trying to defend but Marchand has an arm under the chin now! Bond grimaces and is forced to tap out!
