The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benvenuti lands a slapping body shot.
Francesco Benvenuti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Benvenuti lands with an overhand left.
Benvenuti lands a really nice looking cross but Ewels seems unphased.
Benvenuti is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Ewels on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Benvenuti ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Benvenuti connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ewels. Ewels circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Ewels takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Ewels is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Benvenuti fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Benvenuti comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Benvenuti throws a hook but Ewels blocks it.
And Ewels tries to counter it with a takedown but Benvenuti pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Benvenuti misses with a wild body shot.
Ewels tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Ewels looks for a takedown but Benvenuti sprawls well.
Benvenuti lands a right hook to the body.

Ewels drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Benvenuti misses with a body shot.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Benvenuti, as that shot connected.
Benvenuti lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Ewels takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A jab from Benvenuti finds it's way through Ewels's defenses.
Benvenuti scores with a sloppy right hand. Ewels should have avoided that one.
Benvenuti connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Ewels changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Ewels with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Benvenuti to score with a decent uppercut.
Benvenuti throws a looping overhand right but Ewels ducks down to avoid it.

and Ewels counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Benvenuti scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Ewels manages to mount him!
Benvenuti wants to get back to his feet but in bucking up he's left an arm hanging out! Ewels has locked onto it and has pulled off a slick armbar! Benvenuti taps furiously! This one is all over!
