PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ken Miller (ranked 16378 p4p, 2921 weight class) and Luis Vega (ranked 280 p4p, 150 weight class). Miller comes to the cage accompanied by 2pac - Im A Souljah. Vega has chosen Truth - Atomic thunder as his entrance music. Ken Miller had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ken Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Luis Vega!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.





The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vega rushes Miller and presses him up against the cage.
Vega gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Miller.
Vega throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Millers head.
Miller is trying to pull guard but Vega turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Vega throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
I was talking to Miller's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Vega misses with some punches.

Vega lands a body punch.
Vega's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Miller blocks a punch to the side of the head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Miller has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Vega is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Miller.

Still in half guard, Vega seems content to control.
Vega is looking to take a break and control but Miller is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Vega stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miller swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Vega got a little sloppy there for a moment and Miller has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vega has managed to get both his arms back between Miller's legs - danger averted.

Luis Vega showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Miller takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Miller swings for the body but Vega moves out of range.

Miller uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vega.

Vega might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
