Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 40 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Vicente Lafayette! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lynn Steinheiser! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lafayette lands a jab to the head.
Steinheiser tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lafayette sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Steinheiser somewhat. Vicente Lafayette seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steinheiser looks for a takedown but Lafayette sprawls well. Lafayette throws a body kick that misses and Steinheiser counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Lafayette has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Steinheiser has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Steinheiser looking for a takedown. Vicente Lafayette has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lynn Steinheiser. Lafayette manages to pull guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Steinheiser preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lafayette working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Steinheiser. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steinheiser working some strikes from top position. Steinheiser throwing strikes from guard but Lafayette blocks nicely. Steinheiser throwing strikes from guard but Lafayette blocks nicely. Steinheiser pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lafayette is keeping the position for now. Steinheiser trying to control but Lafayette is working from the bottom. Steinheiser stands up over Lafayette, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Steinheiser works over Lafayette with some ground and pound from guard. Lafayette pulls Steinheiser in close to prevent any damage. Steinheiser throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Steinheiser postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Lafayette working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Steinheiser doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Steinheiser manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Steinheiser is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Steinheiser lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Lafayette utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Steinheiser accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Steinheiser has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Lafayette to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Steinheiser is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Lafayette pulls down on the head and he's put Steinheiser to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Vicente Lafayette! A loyal slave to those sponsorship dollars, Vicente Lafayette made sure he mentioned Sin City Allstars, along with how happy he was to win his fight. Lynn Steinheiser spoke after the fight, saying 'I'm calling for a review of this fight! This faggot kept sticking his finger in my asshole!!! Who the hell can fight effectively while getting fingered in their asshole??? I did not like that at all ... though it felt good, but that is besides the point! A distraction is a DISTRACTION!!!
