The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trayans shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Piccio eats them both and turns towards Trayans to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Piccio moves out of range of the strikes.
Trayans misses with a double jab
and Piccio counters with a takedown into side control.
Piccio working the ground and pound.
Piccio decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Trayans throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As Trayans looks to move away, Piccio throws a big counter combo but Trayans just gets out of the way.

and Piccio takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Trayans throws a sloppy head kick and Piccio moves out of range easily.
Trayans throws a right hand that Piccio ducks under and follows up with a left that Piccio also avoids with ease.

No joy there for Trayans, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Trayans manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Piccio wants to control from the top but Trayans keeps moving.

Piccio throws a strike but Trayans rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Piccio on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Piccio tries to get out of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Piccio pushes Trayans off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Tom Trayans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Trayans throws a lazy right hand but Piccio sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

so Piccio counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Piccio chips away with some ground and pound.
Piccio postures up in Trayans's guard and throws a big left but Trayans blocks it.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That was a close second round but I would say that Luciano Piccio will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Piccio accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
