The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Medvedevs takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A big right from Diamante misses.
Diamante tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Medvedevs shoots in but Diamante avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Diamante fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Medvedevs sprawls well initially but Diamante persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Medvedevs is trying to control but can't.
Diamante is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Medvedevs wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
