Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Diamante (ranked 4816 p4p, 435 weight class) and Nikita Medvedevs (ranked 4532 p4p, 429 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pablo Diamante! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nikita Medvedevs! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Medvedevs takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A big right from Diamante misses. Diamante tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Medvedevs shoots in but Diamante avoids the takedown attempt easily. Diamante fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Medvedevs sprawls well initially but Diamante persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Medvedevs is trying to control but can't.
Diamante is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Medvedevs wants to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diamante is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Medvedevs is just riding it out for now. Diamante eventually gives up the hold. Diamante content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Medvedevs is refusing to be controlled, as Diamante sits in half guard. Medvedevs wants to get back to his feet.
Diamante wants to take a breather but Medvedevs is having none of it. Diamante is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Medvedevs sees it coming and defends easily. It looks like Diamante is going to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Diamante is working for a submission of some sort.
Diamante trying to control the action but Medvedevs is working from the bottom. Diamante wants to stand up but Medvedevs has a hold of him and won't allow it. Diamante is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Medvedevs is just riding it out for now. Diamante eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Medvedevs is trying to get back to full guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Diamante wants to stand up but Medvedevs has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Left hook, right uppercut from Medvedevs. Diamante closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Medvedevs tries to kick Diamante off but Diamante keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Diamante is trying to control. Medvedevs wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Medvedevs has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Diamante is on him like a limpet, forcing Medvedevs back against the cage. Diamante is working for takedown but Medvedevs is calmly controlling the position for now. Medvedevs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Diamante wants to take the fight to the mat but Medvedevs manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Medvedevs tries to land knees in the clinch but Diamante avoids the damage to the body. Medvedevs gets underhooks to prevent Diamante's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pablo Diamante. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diamante drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Diamante is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Medvedevs is defending well. Diamante is breathing heavily. Medvedevs breaks the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Medvedevs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Danga de danga de dang - Medvedevs scores with a four punch combination!
It looks like Pablo Diamante has been cut. Diamante shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Medvedevs manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Diamante trying to control the position from guard on top but Medvedevs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Diamante avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

A close round but Nikita Medvedevs will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Pablo Diamante's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A slapping leg kick lands for Medvedevs.
Diamante misses with a hook. Medvedevs ducked under it nicely. Diamante misses with an uppercut. Diamante shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Diamante tries to stand and escape but Medvedevs is controlling the position. Medvedevs is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Diamante pulls his head out easily. Diamante tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Medvedevs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diamante looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Pablo Diamante overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Diamante is looking to take a break and control but Medvedevs is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Medvedevs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Diamante is working away from the top position though. Medvedevs is not content to let Diamante control the position. Medvedevs trying to hold on to Diamante's head to control him but Diamante postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Diamante shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Diamante ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Medvedevs moves away. Nice sprawl there from Diamante as Medvedevs shoots in. Medvedevs wants to clinch but Diamante slips to the side and Diamante counters with a single leg into guard. Medvedevs didn't expect that. Diamante wants to control from the top but Medvedevs keeps moving. Medvedevs is trying to keep Diamante in close.
Diamante tries to free his leg and advance position but Medvedevs is retaining full guard. Diamante advances to half guard. Diamante controlling the pace. Diamante stalling away here and it's allowed Medvedevs to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diamante prevents Medvedevs from getting back to his feet. Diamante advances position into side control! Medvedevs struggling a bit here. Medvedevs is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Diamante is staying active. Diamante is trying to get an arm triangle but Medvedevs is defending well. Medvedevs is not content to let Diamante control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Medvedevs tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Diamante wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Diamante is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Medvedevs is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Diamante tries to move to full mount but Medvedevs actually manages to regain half guard. Diamante wants to work for an arm triangle but Medvedevs is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Diamante is trying to control. Medvedevs wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Diamante controlling the pace. Diamante is stalling here. Medvedevs is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Diamante seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Medvedevs has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Diamante might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Diamante is not content to let Medvedevs control the position. Medvedevs shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Diamante sprawls well. Diamante wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Medvedevs gets slowly back to his feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Diamante. Medvedevs dives in and grabs Diamante's left leg, looking for a takedown. Diamante pushes down on Medvedevs's head and hops out. That's going to take a lot out of Nikita Medvedevs. Diamante closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Diamante lands in his opponent's guard. Medvedevs is looking to stand back up but Diamante counters by passing into half guard. Medvedevs is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest. Diamante is trying to control the action in half guard but Medvedevs is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Diamante keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Pablo Diamante seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Medvedevs lands a jab-cross combination. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Medvedevs is defended easily by Diamante.

Medvedevs tries to close the distance and clinch but Diamante swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Diamante looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Diamante wants to take a breather but Medvedevs is having none of it. It looks like Diamante is going to stand back up.
Medvedevs looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Diamante is looking for a kimura but Medvedevs is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Diamante to get the leverage. Diamante is keen to just control but Medvedevs is a slippery customer. Medvedevs wants to improve his position but Diamante is controlling well.
