Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shoei Braz (ranked 1735 p4p, 224 weight class) and Alexander Gruzdev (ranked 2828 p4p, 349 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Braz or perhaps it was just good defense by Gruzdev, which made it look bad.
A shot to the liver by Gruzdev. Beautiful body shot.

Braz closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gruzdev quickly recovers to half guard.
Braz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Braz connects with a nice short shot to Gruzdev's temple.

Braz throws a strike but Gruzdev avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Gruzdev wants to stand and escape but Braz is having none of it.
Gruzdev has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Braz has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
We've been informed that Gruzdev has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Braz drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Gruzdev fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Braz manages to avoid it.

Gruzdev has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Braz is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Braz.
Braz takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Braz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Braz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gruzdev but Gruzdev pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Oh Braz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Braz was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

A big head kick from Gruzdev and Braz is sent sprawling to the canvas!
Gruzdev stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gruzdev displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Braz.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gruzdev gets to his feet. Braz looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Braz closes the distance and clinches up with Gruzdev, looking for a takedown. Braz pushes Gruzdev against the cage but Gruzdev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gruzdev throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Alexander Gruzdev seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Braz ducks right into an uppercut from Gruzdev.
Jeez, Shoei Braz's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Braz darts in looking for a takedown but Gruzdev gets double underhooks and turns Braz into the cage.
Braz tries to move into range but Gruzdev moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Gruzdev drops Braz with a straight right hand, right on the button! Gruzdev follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Gruzdev!
An out of breath Alexander Gruzdev thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Shoei Braz spoke after the fight, saying 'I`ll be back'.
