Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kev McKill (ranked 3109 p4p, 389 weight class) and Jorge Romero (ranked 2563 p4p, 336 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McKill might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Welcome to the jungle, Guns n Roses.. Kev McKill has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Kev McKill ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jorge Romero! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big right from McKill misses. Romero feints the counter takedown. Romero blocks a jab. McKill throws a looping overhand right but Romero ducks down to avoid it. McKill scores with a hook to the body. Romero takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Romero shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McKill as he jumps to the side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McKill keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's one minute gone in the round. McKill clobbers Romero with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. McKill throws a series of strikes that have Romero backpedaling.
Romero shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McKill 's guard. Romero pushing down on McKill 's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Romero trying to pass the guard but McKill defending well. Romero wants to control but McKill is keeping him busy. Romero tries to pass the half guard into mount. McKill knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Romero thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McKill 's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Romero tries to pass to full mount but McKill defends it. McKill tries to get to full guard but Romero has control of the leg. Romero thows a huge punch but McKill dodges it nicely.
Romero seems to be looking for submissions.
McKill is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. McKill moves into full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Romero loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. McKill is trying to control the position but Romero postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romero throws an elbow that misses. McKill uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Romero's guard. Nice move by McKill !
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Romero working a defensive guard here.
Romero tries to land a sweep but no joy. Romero pulls McKill in to control the position. McKill stopping the sweep attempt from Romero. Romero is trying to keep McKill in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McKill preventing the sweep. Romero is trying to hold McKill in close to prevent damage but McKill has managed to pass into half guard.
Romero is looking to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Romero wants to control but McKill is keeping busy.

McKill seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Romero wants to get back to full guard. Romero is trying to defend against the ground and pound but McKill scores with a couple of nice shots. Romero looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. McKill landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Romero slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Romero counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Romero is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Romero working McKill over with strikes. McKill is pressing down on Romero's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Romero postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Romero tries to free his leg and advance position but McKill is retaining full guard. McKill avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Romero looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero with a flurry of punches that miss. Romero working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Romero works a leg free and moves into half guard. Romero looks to land a strike but McKill avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Romero slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Romero is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McKill knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. McKill is looking for a sweep. Romero thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Romero looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Romero is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, McKill has escaped the position, nice work there. Romero swings around for an armbar but McKill sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Romero's guard. Romero is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Romero has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. McKill scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McKill won't allow Romero to sweep him here. Romero not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Romero is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. McKill got a little sloppy there for a moment and Romero has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McKill has managed to get both his arms back between Romero's legs - danger averted. McKill wants to control from the top but Romero keeps moving. McKill keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Romero's head. Romero wants to sweep but no luck. Romero is pulling down on McKill 's head. It's preventing any offense from McKill , at least for the moment. McKill stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Romero swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Romero had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McKill defends it easily. McKill content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Romero is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jorge Romero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Romero dives in for a single leg takedown but McKill sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Nice defenses there by Romero. McKill connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. McKill just misses with a punch to the body.
Romero tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. McKill looks to land a right hand but Romero moved out of range. We've been told by McKill 's head coaches at JAG Battle Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McKill clinches. Romero goes for a takedown attempt but McKill pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

McKill with a nice head shot there. McKill is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Romero is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! McKill has his hands clasped together but Romero extends and breaks McKill 's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Romero.
