Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Beurling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Beurling!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin Tate!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tate checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Tate catches Beurling with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Tate wants to land a leg kick but Beurling is out of range.
Tate misses with a straight right.
Tate scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Beurling changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tate looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Beurling in side control lands a decent elbow.
Tate on the wrong end of some ground and pound.


It looks like Kevin Tate has been cut.
Tate is trying to improve his position.
Tate manages to work his way to half guard, despite Beurling's best efforts.
Beurling missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tate tries to get to full guard but Beurling has control of the leg.
Beurling not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Tate is looking for a sweep. Beurling is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Tate wants to control but Beurling is keeping busy.
Beurling has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Beurling trying to advance position but Tate counters by regaining guard.
Beurling content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Tate working for a triangle but Beurling defends it easily.

Tate working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Beurling doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Beurling manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Beurling tries to free his leg and advance position but Tate is retaining full guard.
Beurling is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Tate can't keep his opponent in guard - Beurling advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Tate blocking the ground and pound attempt from Beurling.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Beurling landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Beurling missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Beurling is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Beurling throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tate tries to get to full guard but Beurling has control of the leg.
Tate keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Beurling moves into full mount! Tate won't be happy about that!
Tate can't escape the position.

Beurling looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
BOOM! Beurling connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Tate is desperately trying to improve his position but Beurling has a good base and remains in mount.
Beurling working Tate over with strikes here.
Tate is in a horrible position here. Beurling smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Beurling dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kevin Tate's cut.
That's time! Beurling's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Excellent takedown into side control there by Beurling.
Beurling sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Tate is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Beurling tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Beurling has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Tate takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Beurling working the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tate takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Beurling is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tate knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Beurling has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Beurling landing strikes from the mount.


The cut above Kevin Tate's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Tate can't escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tate wants to control but Beurling is having none of it.
Beurling breaks from Tate's wrist control and lands an elbow.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kevin Tate's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). George Beurling!
