PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jolly Roger (ranked 1735 p4p, 227 weight class) and Vlakan Targa (ranked 1264 p4p, 175 weight class). Roger comes into the arena with Under Jolly Roger blaring out of the sound system. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlakan Targa!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roger throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Targa was covering up waiting for the punch and Roger finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Roger wants to control from the top but Targa keeps moving.
Roger is pushing down on Targa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Targa is fighting to maintain full guard but Roger has managed to sneak the leg through.

Targa keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Roger seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Targa is trying to get back to full guard.
Targa is looking to control Roger's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Targa avoid being mounted?

Roger tries to pass the half guard into mount. Targa knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Roger throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Roger maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Targa could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Roger has cracked it and Targa is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Roger!
