Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Fothergill (ranked 1827 p4p, 200 weight class) and Hamish McTavish (ranked 1661 p4p, 190 weight class). Fothergill comes to the cage accompanied by Austrian Death Machine - Get To The Choppa. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Fothergill! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hamish McTavish! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McTavish connects with a solid leg kick. Fothergill pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McTavish fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Fothergill checks it well. McTavish misses with a head kick.
Fothergill has taken the fight to the clinch.
A short right from Fothergill. Fothergill tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Fothergill fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Fothergill lands with a right to the head. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Fothergill is looking to control McTavish's arms but McTavish gets an underhook and turns him. Now Fothergill has his back to the cage. McTavish taking a breather. We've been informed that McTavish has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fothergill tries to land a knee to the head but McTavish blocks with his arms.
McTavish is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Fothergill to keep the fight standing. Fothergill manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Both guys are working to get underhooks. McTavish jumps guard and drags Fothergill to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. McTavish looking for a sweep. Not yet McTavish, not yet. Fothergill has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. McTavish is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. McTavish is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Fothergill moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Fothergill is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McTavish is aware though and is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McTavish not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Fothergill is trying to control the position but McTavish postures up. McTavish controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Fothergill might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. McTavish keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Fothergill's head. McTavish is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Fothergill wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and McTavish is now in half guard. McTavish throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McTavish drops an elbow to the side of Fothergill's head. McTavish working Fothergill over with strikes. Fothergill looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Fothergill wants to get back to his feet. McTavish wants to pass the guard but Fothergill is defending well. Fothergill has hold of McTavish's hands but McTavish slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. McTavish content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Fothergill has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McTavish is working away from the top position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McTavish connects with a nice short shot to Fothergill's temple. Fothergill is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McTavish pulls his head out easily. Fothergill is trying to defend against the ground and pound but McTavish scores with a couple of nice shots. Fothergill is looking to control McTavish's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fothergill avoid being mounted? McTavish scoring with strikes to the body and head. Well, if McTavish is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Fothergill is trying to escape back to his feet but McTavish uses the scramble to pass into side control.
McTavish is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Fothergill will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hamish McTavish dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
A head kick misses from Fothergill. McTavish bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Fothergill explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! McTavish throws a leg kick but Fothergill sees it coming and checks it nicely. Fothergill avoids a punch combination nicely.
McTavish takes a kick to the side of the head.
It looks like Hamish McTavish has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Fothergill with the inside leg kick. McTavish swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McTavish closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Fothergill quickly recovers to half guard. Fothergill is trying to escape back to his feet but McTavish uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Fothergill controls the position for a moment. Fothergill is looking for a sweep.

McTavish has been the more effective fighter overall so far. McTavish tries for a kimura but Fothergill is defending well. McTavish in side control, just content to control the action for now. McTavish in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

You can see the frustration on Fothergill's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. McTavish lands a decent elbow from side control. Check out the look on McTavish's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

He's worked his way up against the cage but McTavish has just dragged him back down to the mat. McTavish scores with punches from side control. McTavish scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Fothergill to see if he's OK.

Fothergill is rocked! McTavish tries for a kimura but Fothergill is defending well. Oh Fothergill is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! A big shot lands for McTavish! That's hurt Fothergill! Will he recover? McTavish fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
