Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adam Street (ranked 7295 p4p, 2848 weight class) and Vernon Woodard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Woodard has chosen Last Stylebender as his entrance music. Adam Street has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Adam Street!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vernon Woodard!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Darius Henderson and Skip Squint.





The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodard fails with a takedown attempt.

Woodard takes the fight into the clinch.

Street decides to pull guard.
Woodard won't allow Street to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Street wants to stand up but Woodard is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Woodard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Street has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Woodard has managed to get both his arms back between Street's legs - danger averted.

Street working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Woodard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Woodard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Street is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Woodard drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Street manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Woodard has Street in his guard.

Street slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Woodard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Street. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Street postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Street throws an elbow that misses. Woodard uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Street's guard. Nice move by Woodard!

Street manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Woodard manages to get himself to full guard.

Street drops back, looking for a kneebar! Woodard looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Woodard looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Woodard!

Woodard throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Street works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Street has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Woodard is on him like a limpet, forcing Street back against the cage.

Street pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Street avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Woodard misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Street scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Woodard lands a two punch combo.

Street seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Woodard for as long as he can get away with.

Woodard is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Street is controlling him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Woodard is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Street is aware though and is defending well.

Street lands a couple of digs.
Street is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Woodard can do to turn this around?
Street is looking to work some ground and pound but Woodard has wrist control.

Street creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Woodard sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Adam Street overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Woodard takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Woodard is trying to control Street's posture but Street avoids it.
Street fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Street postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Street throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Street controls the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Woodard is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Vernon Woodard has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Adam Street is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Woodard tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Street presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Adam Street showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Street, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
