The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Avetisyan sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Avetisyan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat.

Johnson tries to keep at a distance but Avetisyan has taken the fight into the clinch.

Avetisyan has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Johnson is trying to keep an underhook but Avetisyan manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Johnson moves into range and clinches up with Avetisyan.

Johnson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Johnson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Johnson is trying to pull guard but Avetisyan has him pressed against the cage.

Avetisyan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Avetisyan darts in and clinches Johnson up against the cage.
Johnson jumps guard but Avetisyan stands there with Johnson around his waist. Johnson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Avetisyan tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Avetisyan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Johnson shoots for a takedown but Avetisyan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Johnson tries to pull guard but Avetisyan holds him up against the cage and eventually Johnson drops back down to his feet.

Johnson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Avetisyan avoids it really well and circles away.

Johnson is trying to pull guard but Avetisyan has him pressed against the cage.
Avetisyan is pressed up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Avetisyan down to the mat. Avetisyan avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Johnson takes the fight into the clinch.
Avetisyan lands a hook to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Avetisyan lands a big head kick that sends Johnson tumbling to the mat! Avetisyan takes a step backwards and waves Johnson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Jon Johnson has been cut.
Narek Avetisyan is winning the standup battle so far.
Johnson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Avetisyan counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
