Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rex Kirby! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Nogueira! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.

Rex Kirby seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kirby shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nogueira but Nogueira pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kirby dives in for a single leg takedown but Nogueira sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rex Kirby. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kirby shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nogueira sprawls well. Nogueira wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kirby closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nogueira did well to prevent Kirby getting side control. Kirby prevents Nogueira from improving his position. Nogueira looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Nogueira regains full guard. Nicely done. Kirby stands up over Nogueira, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirby cracks Nogueira with a solid left hand. Nogueira wants to sweep but no luck. Nogueira is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Kirby lands a couple of elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nogueira looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kirby seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Nogueira is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kirby postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Kirby working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Nogueira's head.
Nogueira is rocked! Kirby gets to his feet and stands over Nogueira, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Nogueira felt that one! Kirby unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Nogueira from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rex Kirby! A less than humble Rex Kirby misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
