Nogueira defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kirby.
Rex Kirby seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kirby shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nogueira but Nogueira pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kirby dives in for a single leg takedown but Nogueira sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Kirby takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kirby closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nogueira did well to prevent Kirby getting side control.

Kirby seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Nogueira is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kirby postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Kirby gets to his feet and stands over Nogueira, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Nogueira felt that one! Kirby unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Nogueira from any more punishment!
