Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Rian (ranked 4628 p4p, 25759 weight class) and Max Hermawan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Gordon Rian has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Gordon Rian seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gordon Rian! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Hermawan! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hermawan tries to clinch up. Hermawan is looking to land body kicks. A shot to the liver by Hermawan. Beautiful body shot. Rian throws an overhand right that lands on Hermawan's shoulder, as Hermawan tries to avoid the shot. Hermawan tries to close the distance and clinch but Rian swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. It looked like Rian wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Hermawan throws a head kick that misses. Rian looks to land a left hand but Hermawan moved out of range nicely. Hermawan tries to counter with a clinch but Rian shakes him off and moves away. Rian manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hermawan on his heels. He'll look to pass Hermawan's guard now, I'm sure. Rian is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Rian has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Rian working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rian is looking to work some ground and pound but Hermawan has wrist control. Rian is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rian is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Rian passes Hermawan's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Rian thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hermawan's head. Rian slips a nice elbow through Hermawan's hands, connecting with Hermawan's forehead. Rian seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Hermawan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rian. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rian seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hermawan for as long as he can get away with. Rian is nestled in close to Hermawan, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Rian has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rian lands strikes from half guard. Rian keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Hermawan looks winded! Rian could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Rian gets a takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rian performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Rian slips a nice elbow through Hermawan's hands, connecting with Hermawan's forehead. Rian thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hermawan's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rian not doing much here.
Rian is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rian working the head and body with strikes. Nice strikes from Rian there. Rian controlling the action here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rian continues to stall. Hermawan won't allow Rian to pass to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gordon Rian dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Rian throws a hook but Hermawan avoids it easily. Rian circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rian throws a shot from downtown. Hermawan moves away and avoids it. Hermawan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rian looks to throw the jab but Hermawan is out of range. Rian is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hermawan can do to turn this around? Hermawan slips a straight right by Rian. A big left from Rian misses. Rian drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hermawan preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Rian showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hermawan is trying to control the position but Rian postures up. Rian is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hermawan is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. This is a sustained period of stalling by Rian. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Rian throws an overhand right that lands on Hermawan's shoulder, as Hermawan tries to avoid the shot. Rian drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gordon Rian overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hermawan takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Rian landing a few strikes. A lull in the action here. Rian lands a decent elbow from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rian working the ground and pound. Rian landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Rian is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hermawan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Rian scores with a couple of short elbows. Rian moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hermawan taking a bit of punishment here - Rian scoring with strikes. Rian is staying tight to Hermawan's torso, preventing him from escaping. Check out the look on Rian's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The referee asks Rian politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rian prefers to stall for the moment though. Rian has an Americana. Hermawan didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Rian is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Rian hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Gordon Rian!
