The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Thunder.
Thunder takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ward avoids the body shot from Thunder.
Ward misses with a head kick.
Ward throws a low kick but Thunder avoids it.

Thunder shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Thunder was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Thunder has eaten all the pies!
Thunder trying to control the position but Ward is working away.

Thunder moves into full guard.
Ward's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thunder pulls Ward in close to prevent any damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Thunder is looking for a triangle here but Ward uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Even with his hooks in, Thunder manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Thunder is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Ward has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Ward manages to reverse the position and now he's in Thunder's guard. Nice work there by Ward.

Ward ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Ward cracks Thunder with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Ward has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Thunder to stand back up!

It looks like Usain Thunder has been cut.
Usain Thunder is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Thunder is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Ward doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Thunder crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Thunder's bad books for that mishap!
