PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Mike Tyson (ranked 24252 p4p, 589 weight class) and Yuri Boyka (ranked 3122 p4p, 319 weight class). Boyka has chosen Norman - Fury as his entrance music. Yuri Boyka told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Tyson.
Tyson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Despite the aggression on Boyka's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Tyson lands with a cross.
Boyka throws a right and a left that Tyson avoids nicely.
A punch lands to the side of Boyka 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Boyka loads up on a big right hand but Tyson slips the punch.
Tyson takes a jab right on the kisser.
Boyka throws a big shot that misses.
Boyka displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tyson throws out the jab.
Tyson swings for the body but Boyka moves out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Boyka takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Tyson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Boyka shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Tyson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Boyka doesn't seem bothered though.

Boyka fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tyson manages to avoid it.

Boyka misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Tyson. Boyka does a little dance to reset his feet.
Boyka tries to move into range but Tyson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Tyson connects with a quick right hand that sends Boyka tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!
