Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Fleece Johnson (ranked 17171 p4p, 24977 weight class) and Michael Scott (ranked 682 p4p, 643 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 34 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fleece Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Scott! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.

letting Scott counter with a right hand. Michael Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson moves out of range of the body kick from Scott.
It looked like Johnson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice body kick there by Johnson. Good standup being displayed there by Scott as he connects with a hook. Johnson throws a big shot that misses. Scott tries to land a body kick and Johnson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Scott throws a hook but Johnson blocks it. Johnson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Scott. Scott lands a nice leg kick that just misses Johnson's sensitive parts. Johnson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Scott tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Johnson was well out of range. Poor timing from Scott. Johnson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Scott. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Scott lands with a thumping leg kick.
Johnson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. A countering left hand to the body from Scott misses.

Scott fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johnson manages to avoid it. Scott ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Johnson moves away. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Scott. Scott throws a looping overhand right but Johnson ducks down to avoid it. Johnson tries to counter by clinching up but Scott breaks away and moves out of range. Johnson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Scott fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Scott swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Scott pivots, looking for a leg kick but Johnson is out of range and Scott settles back down. Scott misses with a body kick. Johnson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Scott. Scott tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Johnson is able to avoid easily. Johnson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Our sources have told us that Johnson has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Scott stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Scott lands a right hand that snaps the head of Johnson backwards. Scott throws a punch but it's blocked by Johnson. A nice left hand lands by Johnson.

Scott breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Scott tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Scott lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Scott throws a push kick but Johnson slaps the foot to one side. Johnson moves away from the strike by Scott. Scott lands a slapping body shot.

and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This has been an exciting period of action! Scott lands a jab to Johnson's midsection.

That was a close second round but I would say that Fleece Johnson will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Michael Scott's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Scott throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily. Scott takes a swing at Johnson's ribcage but misses. Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Scott circles away quickly and effectively. Johnson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Scott is out of range. Scott steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Johnson avoids the body shot from Scott.
Scott throws an overhand right that lands on Johnson's shoulder, as Johnson tries to avoid the shot. Johnson tries to move into range but Scott moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Johnson tries to clinch there but Scott circles away.
Johnson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Scott looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. As Scott tries to get set, Johnson tries to push him back and clinch up but Scott manages to avoid the attempt. Scott throws a body shot but no joy. Scott pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Johnson throws a big counter combination but Scott scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Scott uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Johnson. Johnson loads up on a big right hand but Scott slips the punch. Johnson closes the distance and clinches. Johnson with a knee to the head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Johnson misses with a short punch on the inside. Scott throws a hook to the side of Johnson's head but Johnson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Johnson throws a combination. Scott tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Scott lands a nice leg kick that just misses Johnson's sensitive parts. Johnson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Scott. Scott throws out a loose jab but Johnson uses good head movement to avoid it. Good work by Johnson as he checks the leg kick. Johnson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Scott. An inside leg kick lands from Scott. Scott throws a body punch but Johnson moves out of range. Johnson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Scott counters with a body kick that stops Johnson in his tracks momentarily. Johnson clinches. Johnson with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Scott can't find room to land a body shot as Johnson controls the action.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Fleece Johnson. I think Johnson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
