Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Massi Vears (ranked 5480 p4p, 542 weight class) and Nils Ushakow (ranked 25782 p4p, 676 weight class). Nils Ushakow will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Massi Vears! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nils Ushakow! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vears throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Ushakow wants to clinch. Ushakow moves out of range as Vears throws a body kick.
Vears with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Ushakow connects with a high kick. Vears thows a body kick. Ushakow tries to catch it but that hurt him. Vears avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vears throws a half hearted mid kick. Ushakow is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Vears tries to land a leg kick but Ushakow saw it coming and moves away.
Massi Vears seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ushakow keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Ushakow avoids a kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vears lands a big head kick that sends Ushakow tumbling to the mat! Vears takes a step backwards and waves Ushakow back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Nils Ushakow has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vears feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ushakow's calf. Ushakow tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. An inside leg kick lands from Vears. Vears misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ushakow.
Vears fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ushakow has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ushakow moves out of range of the body kick. Ushakow displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Vears throws out the jab. Vears avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vears seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Ushakow tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vears paws at him with a jab and circles away. Vears lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ushakow fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Ushakow fails to land the takedown. Vears misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nice defenses there by Ushakow. Some wild striking there from Ushakow.
Ushakow blocks a head kick by Vears.
Ushakow takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Ushakow avoids the body shot from Vears.
Ushakow looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Massi Vears has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nils Ushakow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vears throws out a leg kick but Ushakow moves out of range and Vears only half commits. Vears fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ushakow manages to avoid it. Ushakow ducks under a wild hook from Vears. Vears lands a big head kick that sends Ushakow to the canvas! Vears follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Massi Vears!
