PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Count Dankula (ranked 3505 p4p, 3598 weight class) and Hiki Antsa (ranked 333 p4p, 344 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Count Dankula!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hiki Antsa!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.

Antsa misses the shot to the body.
Antsa takes a jab right on the kisser.

Dankula stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dankula wants it to stay on the feet.
Dankula stuffs the takedown attempt from Antsa. Antsa gets slowly back to his feet.
Dankula comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Antsa moves forwards but Dankula connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Antsa looks to throw the jab but Dankula is out of range.
Antsa throws a looping overhand right but Dankula ducks down to avoid it.
Dankula scores with a one two! Antsa had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Dankula ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Dankula looks to land a combination. Antsa sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Antsa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dankula sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A counter left hand to the body from Dankula misses its target.
Antsa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dankula swivels and escapes.
Count Dankula has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hiki Antsa.

Antsa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dankula with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Antsa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dankula's head.
Dankula's coaches at fuck you have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Antsa is trying to work for a kimura but Dankula is defending well.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Antsa lands a nice short elbow.
Antsa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dankula keeps working.
Dankula blocking the ground and pound attempt from Antsa.
Dankula is not content to let Antsa control the position.

Antsa wants to take a breather but Dankula is having none of it.

Antsa is working for a submission of some sort.
Antsa seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Dankula is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dankula knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Antsa on the ground.
Antsa is stalling here. Dankula is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Antsa seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Dankula has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Antsa tries to buck Dankula off but Dankula is having none of it.
Antsa manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dankula wants to stand up but Antsa is controlling the position.
Antsa regains full guard. Nicely done.
Antsa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Antsa looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dankula is one step ahead there.
Dankula throws an elbow that misses. Antsa uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dankula's guard. Nice move by Antsa!

Antsa sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dankula's guard.
Dankula on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Antsa controlling the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Count Dankula will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Dankula scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Dankula getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Count Dankula is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dankula keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A big right from Antsa misses.
Antsa throws a jab but it's blocked by Dankula.
A quick step to the side and Dankula tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Antsa with the counter takedown but Dankula avoids it easily.

Antsa takes one to the chin there.
Antsa lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dankula connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Antsa momentarily.
Dankula lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Dankula throws a right hand that Antsa ducks under and follows up with a left that Antsa also avoids with ease.
Antsa changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Antsa throws a looping overhand right but Dankula ducks down to avoid it.
Count Dankula is winning the standup battle so far.
Dankula avoids the body shot from Antsa.

Antsa throws a hook but Dankula avoids it easily.
Dankula throws a quick inside leg kick.
Antsa throws a lazy uppercut
and Dankula counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Antsa thinking.
Dankula lands a jab to the head.
Dankula lands the left hand.
Dankula scores with a punch to the head.

Antsa is rocked!
Dankula digs a good hook to Antsa's body.
Antsa is still on wobbly legs! Can Dankula finish him?
Dankula is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Antsa can do to turn this around?
Antsa walks straight into a right hand from Dankula - that's dropped him! Dankula jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Antsa from any more punishment! Antsa complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Count Dankula!
After the fight, Count Dankula was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
