Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Obina Chuckwu (ranked 2370 p4p, 3597 weight class) and Paulo Gutti (ranked 304 p4p, 420 weight class). Obina Chuckwu has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Obina Chuckwu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Paulo Gutti! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.

Gutti wants to counter with a clinch but Chuckwu pushes him away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Chuckwu is defended easily by Gutti. Gutti steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Chuckwu. Chuckwu with a poor takedown and Gutti moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Obina Chuckwu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chuckwu drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gutti gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Gutti listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gutti lands the left hand. Nice jab there from Gutti. Gutti connects with the punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chuckwu misses with a takedown enabling Gutti to counter with a crisp jab. Gutti thuds his right hand into Chuckwu's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Chuckwu tries for a takedown but Gutti sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Paulo Gutti is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice takedown defense from Gutti. No joy for Chuckwu on that attempt. Chuckwu with a lazy takedown attempt and Gutti counters with a lovely straight right hand! The crowd cheers as Gutti lands an impressive looking overhand right. Chuckwu doesn't seem phased though. Chuckwu fails to land the takedown. Chuckwu has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gutti finds it's way round the side to connect with Chuckwu's head. Obina Chuckwu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gutti lands with an uppercut that bounces Chuckwu off the cage and back into range. Chuckwu seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Gutti lands a jab to the nose. Chuckwu fails with the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chuckwu fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Gutti looks like he wants to counter punch here. Gutti is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Chuckwu had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chuckwu doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Gutti counter with a right hand. Gutti dips to his left and cracks Chuckwu with an uppercut! Chuckwu scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Chuckwu stops Gutti from getting back to his feet.

Chuckwu landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Gutti is trying to stand up here but Chuckwu is controlling him well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chuckwu seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
It looks like Paulo Gutti has been cut. Chuckwu stops Gutti from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gutti has hold of Chuckwu's hands but Chuckwu slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Chuckwu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Chuckwu lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Gutti is looking to escape. Chuckwu is nestled in close to Gutti, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Chuckwu lands with a punch from half guard. Chuckwu winds up and cracks Gutti with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That has opened up Paulo Gutti's cut even more. Gutti looks winded! Chuckwu seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Gutti is not content to let Chuckwu control the position. Chuckwu winds up and cracks Gutti with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Chuckwu lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Gutti quite badly. Gutti pulls Chuckwu in close trying to recover. Chuckwu postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Gutti on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Gutti doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Obina Chuckwu! A very excited looking Obina Chuckwu made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
