Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Duggan (ranked 3773 p4p, 23681 weight class) and Steven Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Duggan might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Five Finger Death Punch- Bad Company . Jim Duggan has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Duggan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steven Peterson! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duggan scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Peterson doesn't seem bothered though. The fight moves into the clinch position. Duggan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Duggan takes the fight into the clinch. Good body shot from Duggan.
Duggan lands a hook to the side of the head. Peterson throws a punch but it's blocked by Duggan. Peterson throws a punch but it's blocked by Duggan. Duggan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Duggan closes the distance and clinches up with Peterson, looking for a takedown. Duggan pushes Peterson against the cage but Peterson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Duggan gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Duggan lands a nice uppercut. Duggan scores with an uppercut up the middle. This has been an exciting period of action! Duggan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Duggan has closed the distance and engaged Peterson in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duggan lands an elbow inside that Peterson shrugs off.
It looks like Steven Peterson has been cut. A short right from Duggan. Duggan lands a knee to the body.
Duggan lands with a short head shot on the inside. Peterson doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Duggan pressing his opponent against the cage. Duggan avoiding damage.
Duggan seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Duggan manages to break the clinch.
Duggan takes the fight into the clinch. Duggan lands with a light punch inside. Duggan blocks a body shot from Peterson. Peterson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Peterson swings wildly with an uppercut but Duggan uses good head movement to avoid it. Duggan wants the takedown. Peterson is fighting it off but Duggan persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Peterson's guard against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Duggan postures up and lands a big shot to Peterson's brow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Peterson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Duggan connects with a couple of short punches. Peterson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duggan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Duggan with a nice head shot there. Peterson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Duggan defends it easily. Peterson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Duggan stands up over Peterson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Peterson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Duggan working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Peterson's head. Duggan lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duggan is in close to Peterson's body, working some short punches and elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peterson is trying to keep Duggan in close.
Duggan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Peterson wants to hit a sweep here but Duggan passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Peterson there! A nice elbow there by Duggan. Duggan with a couple of short strikes. Peterson tries to hold on but Duggan pushes him away. Duggan pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Duggan lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Duggan lands a couple of good shots and Peterson has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Peterson is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Peterson gets cracked with a huge elbow and he's out cold! Possibly KO of the night from the back? Unusual but possible!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jim Duggan! A very excited looking Jim Duggan made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
