The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeLarge wants to clinch up but Santerini keeps it at a distance.

Santerini rushes DeLarge and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
DeLarge trying to land knees to the body.

Santerini lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Santerini looks to land a strike but DeLarge avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Santerini postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Santerini tries to free his leg and advance position but DeLarge is retaining full guard.
DeLarge is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Santerini wants to control from the top but DeLarge keeps moving.
Santerini stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. DeLarge swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Santerini stands and steps away. DeLarge gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Santerini counters with a leg kick.

Santerini is breathing heavily.
DeLarge tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Santerini moves into the clinch.
DeLarge misses with a knee strike.

DeLarge breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

so Santerini counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

DeLarge throws his legs up looking for a submission but Santerini uses it to pass to side control.

Santerini thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Santerini throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
DeLarge is trying to buck Santerini off.
Santerini laying and praying for a moment but DeLarge takes advantage and regains half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santerini wants to pass the guard but DeLarge is defending well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Santerini scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
