The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bobby stuns Mertens with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Mertens throws a nice looking combination but Bobby bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bobby thuds his right hand into Mertens's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Mertens takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Bobby swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mertens lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bobby circles away quickly and effectively.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bobby, as that shot connected.
Bobby throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mertens with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bobby to score with a decent uppercut.
Mertens throws a right and a left that Bobby avoids nicely.

Bobby throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mertens sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mertens steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bobby.
Mertens misses with a low kick.
Mertens throws out a loose jab but Bobby uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mertens throws a shot from downtown. Bobby moves away and avoids it.
Mertens throws a series of punches but Bobby avoids them all with ease.

Mertens flicks out a counter leg kick but Bobby steps away.

Bobby's corner calls for a 1-2. Bobby obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Mertens is rocked!

Mertens misses with a series of wild punches.
Bobby lands a nice hook to Mertens's body. Mertens takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Bobby cracks Mertens with a hook to the temple - Mertens is on wobbly legs here! Bobby swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Mertens falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Bobby wins by TKO!
