The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hjalmgeirsson throws a low kick, looking for Hoyle's leg but Hoyle calmly moves out of range.
Hoyle avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hoyle attempts a counter takedown but Hjalmgeirsson avoids it well and moves away.
Hjalmgeirsson throws a body kick that misses
and Hoyle counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Hjalmgeirsson!
Hjalmgeirsson is trying to work for a sweep but Hoyle has mounted him!
Hjalmgeirsson is wriggling around trying to escape.

Hoyle forces the positional change into back control.
Hoyle is working for a rear naked choke. Hjalmgeirsson is not defending it well and Hoyle has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Hjalmgeirsson refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Hjalmgeirsson's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Aaron Hoyle!
