Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cabasa Punyawong (ranked 797 p4p, 103 weight class) and Jay Simon (ranked 500 p4p, 62 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Cabasa Punyawong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jay Simon! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Simon misses with a hook to the body
and Punyawong counters with a lovely straight right hand! Punyawong lands a two punch combo.
A clash of legs there as Simon blocks the low kick. Simon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Punyawong, pushing him back against the cage. Simon working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. A short uppercut from Simon. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Punyawong. Simon keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Punyawong's efforts to push away. Simon blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Nice body punch from Simon. Punyawong doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Punyawong struggles to land a body shot inside as Simon controls his hands.
Punyawong misses with a punch on the inside.
Simon wants the takedown. Punyawong is fighting it off but Simon persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Punyawong's guard against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Simon pushes down on Punyawong's leg and manages to get into half guard. Simon is trying to work for a kimura but Punyawong is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Simon trying to pass the guard but Punyawong defending well. Simon works his way into full mount! Punyawong wants to control but Simon is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Simon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Punyawong prevents Simon from taking his back. Simon jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Punyawong is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Punyawong and Simon has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Simon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Simon is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Punyawong knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Punyawong is looking for a sweep. Punyawong is not content to let Simon control the position. Simon tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Simon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Simon tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Simon keeps trying to improve his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Simon controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Simon dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Punyawong throws a leg kick and Simon counters with a stiff right hand. Simon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Simon lands in his opponent's guard. Simon pushes down on Punyawong's leg and manages to get into half guard. Punyawong is doing well to control the position and prevent Simon from advancing to side control. Simon is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Punyawong is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jay Simon! Jay Simon decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
