The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berra connects with the punch.
Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Berra defends it nicely.
Berra misses the jab.
Berra misses with an uppercut. Smith saw that one coming.
A head kick misses from Smith.

Berra looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Berra wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.
Smith is looking to stand up but Berra isn't so interested in that idea.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Berra is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Smith has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Berra off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Smith has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Berra finds it's way round the side to connect with Smith's head.
Smith dives in and grabs Berra's left leg, looking for a takedown. Berra pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.
Yogi Berra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A combination from Smith does no damage.

Smith gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Berra to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Smith is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Berra wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.
Berra has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Smith wants to get back to his feet but Berra is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Berra not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Smith with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Berra to score with a decent uppercut.
