Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Habib Putins (ranked 2568 p4p, 317 weight class) and Eladio Vasquez (ranked 4469 p4p, 484 weight class). Habib Putins had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Eladio Vasquez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasquez misses with a takedown attempt - Putins sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Putins dives in and grabs Vasquez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vasquez pushes down on Putins's head and hops out.
Vasquez drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Putins defends it well.
Vasquez throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Vasquez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vasquez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vasquez just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromPutins.

No luck for Vasquez with that takedown attempt.
Putins tries to counter by clinching up but Vasquez breaks away and moves out of range.
Vasquez misses with a few strikes there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Putins rushes Vasquez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Vasquez has had enough of the clinch but Putins keeps him there for the moment.

Putins manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
