Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Tripps (ranked 5616 p4p, 4513 weight class) and Eldar Yanbaev (ranked 538 p4p, 487 weight class). Tripps's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The way you look . Eldar Yanbaev has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Tripps! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Eldar Yanbaev! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yanbaev drives through and clinches with Tripps against the cage.
Tripps has had enough of the clinch but Yanbaev keeps him there for the moment. Tripps managing to block the knees to the body from Yanbaev.
Tripps tries to land knees in the clinch but Yanbaev avoids the damage to the body. Yanbaev lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Kevin Tripps has been cut. Yanbaev landing knees to the head.
Yanbaev goes for a takedown in the clinch but Tripps prevents it.
Tripps tries to score a body lock takedown but Yanbaev shows good agility there to stay on his feet. A frustrated look appears on Tripps's face as he tries to break the clinch. Yanbaev leaning against his opponent.
Tripps tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Yanbaev avoids it. Tripps is trying to push Yanbaev away but Yanbaev has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tripps tries to break the clinch but Yanbaev is controlling the position. Tripps is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Yanbaev is defending well for now. Tripps wants to break free but Yanbaev has control.

Tripps turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Tripps manages to end up in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yanbaev is not content to let Tripps control the position. Yanbaev struggling a bit here. Tripps stands up and beckons Yanbaev to his feet. Yanbaev pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tripps closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Yanbaev to the mat! Yanbaev manages to get full guard. Yanbaev looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tripps lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tripps sitting in guard here, content to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tripps stands up and waves to Yanbaev to follow him. Tripps slips under a jab. Yanbaev throws a head kick that misses. Tripps throwing a counter right hand but Yanbaev manages to avoid it. Tripps is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Yanbaev's half guard. Yanbaev is looking to get back to is feet but Tripps passes into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Yanbaev trying to control but Tripps flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Tripps is riding his opponent, not letting Yanbaev buck him off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tripps connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Yanbaev to escape the position.

Tripps is not going to allow Yanbaev to sit and survive in this position. Yanbaev prevents Tripps from getting a body triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Tripps is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Yanbaev defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Tripps is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Yanbaev knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Yanbaev for a finish. Yanbaev defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Yanbaev tries to roll but Tripps sticks to his back.

Kevin Tripps dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kevin Tripps's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
The fight moves into the clinch position. Tripps with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Yanbaev pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Tripps blocks an elbow strike from Yanbaev.

Yanbaev is looking to take a break and control but Tripps is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Tripps tries to bench press Yanbaev off him but Yanbaev keeps the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tripps can't do much from the bottom here. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tripps regains half guard. Kevin Tripps overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tripps is controlling Yanbaev's position as best he can from this difficult position. Tripps regains full guard. Nicely done. Yanbaev wants to control from the top but Tripps keeps moving. Yanbaev must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Tripps is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The fighters are battling for position here. Yanbaev manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Yanbaev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tripps throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Yanbaev works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Tripps pushes down on Yanbaev's leg and manages to get into half guard. Yanbaev makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Yanbaev. Tripps controlling from the top position. Yanbaev pulls Tripps in to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tripps scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Yanbaev preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Yanbaev working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tripps. Tripps wants to control from the top but Yanbaev keeps moving. Yanbaev looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. A nice inside leg kick there by Yanbaev. That's going to slow Tripps down. Yanbaev fails in his attempt to clinch. Tripps darts in looking for a takedown but Yanbaev gets double underhooks and turns Tripps into the cage. And Yanbaev tries to counter it with a takedown but Tripps pushes his down on his head and steps out. Tripps dives in and grabs Yanbaev's left leg, looking for a takedown. Yanbaev pushes down on Tripps's head and hops out. Tripps tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yanbaev sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tripps somewhat. Yanbaev is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Tripps. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Yanbaev as Tripps shoots in. Tripps fails with the takedown. Yanbaev shapes to counter with a head kick. Tripps looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yanbaev is fending him off so far but Tripps persists. Nope, Yanbaev circles away and we're back to standing. Tripps fails with the takedown. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Yanbaev clinches up with Tripps and pushes him back against the cage. Yanbaev has Tripps pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Tripps manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Yanbaev is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Tripps manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Eldar Yanbaev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Kevin Tripps's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Nice sprawl there from Yanbaev as Tripps shoots in. Tripps takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Yanbaev misses with a two punch combination.
Tripps feints and as Yanbaev raises his hands in defense, Tripps changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Yanbaev can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tripps controls the pace. Yanbaev wants to sweep here but Tripps controlling him for the moment. Yanbaev had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tripps defends it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tripps passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Tripps wants to take a breather but Yanbaev manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Tripps. Tripps trying to control the position from guard on top but Yanbaev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Yanbaev avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Tripps wants to control from the top but Yanbaev keeps moving. Tripps pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yanbaev is keeping the position for now. Tripps is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Yanbaev is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Yanbaev has escaped and now he's on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tripps looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Yanbaev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tripps has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Yanbaev has managed to get both his arms back between Tripps's legs - danger averted. Yanbaev postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tripps is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Yanbaev, into his guard. Yanbaev tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Tripps engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Yanbaev keeping moving, preventing Tripps from controlling successfully. Yanbaev scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tripps changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yanbaev tries to avoid it but Tripps manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yanbaev to the ground. Yanbaev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Yanbaev moves into the clinch successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! Eldar Yanbaev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Yanbaev has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
