PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Lloyd (ranked 5215 p4p, 5209 weight class) and Brad Betts (ranked 419 p4p, 418 weight class). Betts comes into a darkened arena with his song building. xcape kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Lloyd lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Betts circles away quickly and effectively.
Lloyd tries to clinch but Betts moves out of range.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Betts tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lloyd defends well and Betts ends up having to push Lloyd into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lloyd is desperately trying to improve his position but Betts has a good base and remains in mount.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Betts is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Lloyd lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Betts backwards.

Betts does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Betts throws a right and a left that Lloyd avoids nicely.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Betts lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lloyd has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lloyd and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
