Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexei Babinski! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Fusi! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fusi throws a looping overhand right but Babinski ducks down to avoid it. Fusi swings and misses with a shot to the body and Babinski counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like James Fusi has been cut. James Fusi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fusi tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Babinski cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Babinski displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fusi throws out the jab. Fusi throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Babinski on the side of the head. Fusi rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Babinski cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fusi lands with a shot to the body. Fusi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Babinski.

Fusi waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Babinski. Babinski throws a counter high kick but Fusi was just alert enough to avoid it. Fusi loads up on a big right hand but Babinski slips the punch. Fusi misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Babinski to counter with a crisp jab. Fusi misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Babinski counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Babinski looks at the referee who does nothing so Babinski lands a crushing right that sends Fusi to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexei Babinski! Alexei Babinski retains his heavyweight title! Alexei Babinski spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
