PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jestoni Hawk (ranked 24697 p4p, 25408 weight class) and John Popeye (ranked 688 p4p, 713 weight class). John Popeye told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jestoni Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Popeye!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Damien Edna and Ron Honeybunn.

Come on Hawk - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Hawk escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A punch lands to the side of Hawk 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Hawk jumps guard but Popeye stands there with Hawk around his waist. Hawk gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Popeye throws a solid leg kick but Hawk takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Popeye.
John Popeye seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Popeye fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hawk to the ground. Popeye is now in Hawk's guard.

Oh Hawk is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Popeye loads up on a big left hand. Hawk felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Popeye looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Hawk can't hide his disappointment, as Popeye celebrates the victory.
