PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Karl Denke (ranked 24089 p4p, 660 weight class) and Argat Khan (ranked 3559 p4p, 411 weight class). Khan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Can't be touched kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karl Denke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Argat Khan!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan tries a head kick but it misses.
Denke throws a poor cross that misses
and Khan counters with a one-two to the body.
Denke gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A nice leg kick lands there from Khan.
Karl Denke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Khan moves out of range as Denke strikes.
Denke throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Khan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Khan lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
A head kick misses from Denke.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Denke dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Denke takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Khan takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Denke lands a head kick!

It looks like Argat Khan has been cut.
Denke steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Khan.
Denke is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Khan.
Denke pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Denke on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Khan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Khan cracks a nice hook into Denke's ribs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Denke fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Khan manages to avoid it.
Denke throws a body punch but Khan moves out of range.
Denke pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Khan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Denke.
Khan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Khan checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Nice uppercut lands for Khan. That snapped Denke's head back.
Denke misses the shot to the body.
Denke misses with a wild body shot.
Denke closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
A looping hook to the body misses from Denke. Khan does a little dance to reset his feet.
Khan is looking to slow Denke down with leg kicks.
A solid leg kick lands there for Khan.
Khan blocks a low kick nicely.

Khan drops a shoulder and throws a biiiig uppercut that drops Denke onto his butt! Denke pops straight back to his feet to convince the referee that he's OK to continue.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Khan feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Denke's calf.

Khan takes the fight into the clinch.

Khan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Denke walks into a straight right hand and goes down! Khan rushes to a neutral corner so the count doesn't get delayed but Denke has made it back to his feet on 5. He's OK so we're back to the action.

Denke is rocked!
Denke throws a looping overhand right but Khan ducks down to avoid it.
Oh Denke is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Khan and Denke are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Khan throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Denke into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Khan knows it - he's on the ropes flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Argat Khan!
Argat Khan tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
