PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Quintet Tarantino (ranked 3271 p4p, 1624 weight class) and Johnny Winkleman (ranked 361 p4p, 198 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

We've been hearing good reports from Tarantino's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Winkleman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Winkleman wants to control but Tarantino is keeping him busy. Winkleman tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Winkleman working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Tarantino keeping hold of Winkleman's head, controlling as best he can. Winkleman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tarantino does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Winkleman has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Tarantino is forced to tap!

Johnny Winkleman very nearly forgot to thank Brooklyn Apothecary amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
