Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vlakan Targa (ranked 1708 p4p, 3402 weight class) and Bolo Yueng (ranked 225 p4p, 407 weight class). Yueng comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Stranglehold by Ted Nugent kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Vlakan Targa could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bolo Yueng 's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlakan Targa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bolo Yueng ! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yueng drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Targa is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Yueng dives into side control.
Yueng is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Targa's shoulder. That is not cool. Targa tries to buck Yueng off but Yueng is having none of it. Yueng stands up. Targa with a lazy takedown attempt and Yueng counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Targa is looking to get back to is feet but Yueng passes into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action! Targa tries to improve position but can't. Yueng controls the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. You can see the frustration on Targa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Yueng decides to take the fight back to the feet. Yueng looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Targa! Yueng controls the position from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. My spies in Finnish Elite Sport and Fitness Center inform me that Yueng has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Targa is not content to let Yueng control the position. Targa can't do much from the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Targa is looking for a sweep. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Yueng happy to just control the position for now.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Yueng closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Targa's guard. Yueng looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Let's hope that Yueng has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bolo Yueng dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Yueng throws a right and a left that Targa avoids nicely. Targa drops down looking for a counter takedown but Yueng sprawls and moves away. Yueng throws a half hearted mid kick. Targa tries to counter with a takedown but Yueng is quick to defend against it. Yueng throws a right and a left that Targa avoids nicely. Targa shoots in looking for a takedown but Yueng manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Targa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Targa has his takedown stuffed and Yueng counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Targa is looking to get back to is feet but Yueng passes into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Targa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Yueng wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Yueng taking a breather here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yueng wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Targa, who protects the arm well. Targa is letting Yueng control him for a moment. Yueng 's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Targa is looking for a sweep.

Targa is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Yueng is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. You can see the frustration on Targa's face as Yueng controls the position. Yueng trying to control the action but Targa is working from the bottom. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Yueng taking a breather here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Yueng feints and as Targa raises his hands in defense, Yueng changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Yueng is standing up over Targa. Targa looks to escape but Yueng dives into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Yueng . Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Targa wants to control but Yueng postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bolo Yueng showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Yueng fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Targa, pushing him back against the cage. Yueng stalling.
Targa tries to score a body lock takedown but Yueng shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Targa looking for a takedown. Targa has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Yueng avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vlakan Targa. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yueng pulls Targa into guard.
Yueng has control of Targa's left arm, preventing Targa from doing any damage. Yueng isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Targa stacks Yueng on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Targa! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yueng is trying to get back to half guard. Targa working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Targa wants to take a breather but Yueng manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Targa. Yueng working for a triangle but Targa defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Yueng has his foot on Targa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Targa works his way back into a safe position though. Yueng controlling Targa's posture. Yueng keeping full guard, as Targa tries to pass. Bolo Yueng has got the better of the ground game so far. Targa passes Yueng 's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Targa is trying to control. Yueng wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Yueng controlling the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Targa is trying to control the action in half guard but Yueng is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Targa looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yueng is defending against the submission attempts here by Targa.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Targa in particular looking to stall. Yueng is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Targa pulls his head out easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Yueng displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Targa. Nice sprawl there from Yueng as Targa shoots in. Yueng tries to counter with a clinch but Targa shakes him off and moves away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Targa has his takedown stuffed and Yueng counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
And that's the end of the fight! Bolo Yueng comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Yueng has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
