Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jean Luc Petard (ranked 7549 p4p, 3674 weight class) and Ahura Mazda (ranked 731 p4p, 460 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jean Luc Petard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ahura Mazda! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circling - Petard throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Petard throws a jab when Mazda was well out of range. Petard tries to land a front kick but Mazda steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Some bone on bone action there as Petard checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Mazda has closed the distance and engaged Petard in a clinch.
Mazda breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mazda checks the leg kick. Mazda throws a nice inside leg kick. Mazda tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. An inside leg kick lands from Mazda. Petard misses with a straight right. Petard throws a one two combo.
It looks like Ahura Mazda has been cut. Mazda lands with an uppercut that bounces Petard off the ropes and back into range. A slow jab from Petard misses its intended target. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Petard throws a right hand that Mazda ducks under and follows up with a left that Mazda also avoids with ease. Petard has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Brooklyn Mixed Martial Arts in the buildup to the fight. Mazda fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Petard has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Petard misses with a double jab
and Mazda counters with a nice double leg into side control. Petard won't be happy with that. Petard wants to get back to his feet but Mazda is dominant here and he's now got Petard's back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Mazda controls the action. Mazda is working the ground and pound. Can Petard escape? Mazda is looking to control Petard but Petard is wriggling around and keeping busy. Mazda is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Mazda misses with an elbow to the head. Petard covering up well under a series of strikes from Mazda. Mazda has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mazda missing with punches from the back. A lull in the action here.

And that's the end of the fight! Ahura Mazda comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Mazda has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
