Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Buster Nut!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dolph Mercury!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nut doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mercury moves into the clinch.
Mercury creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Nut's defenses.
Mercury gets through Nut's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Nut looking for a takedown.
Nut dodges an elbow strike from Mercury.
Nut jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mercury walks away with a smile on his face. Nut gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Buster Nut. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nut gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mercury connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nut misses with a takedown
and Mercury counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Buster Nut has been cut.
Mercury lands with an overhand left.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mercury blocks a head kick by Nut.
Nut shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mercury counters with a right hand from hell and Nut is out cold! A vicious knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dolph Mercury!
Dolph Mercury decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
