Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kyle Kovingten! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 24 - 1, fighting out of London, Victor Mordino! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Left hook, right uppercut from Mordino. Kovingten misses with a head kick.
Kovingten looks to land a body kick but Mordino moved away. A low kick lands for Kovingten.
Kyle Kovingten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kovingten scores with a nice right hand.
It looks like Victor Mordino has been cut. Kovingten clips Mordino with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Mordino a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.
Mordino is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mordino scores with a jab to the body. Mordino is still on wobbly legs! Can Kovingten finish him? Mordino takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Mordino throws the left hand but Kovingten avoids the punch easily. Kovingten looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Mordino seems to have recovered his senses. Mordino throws a series of punches but Kovingten moves out of range. Some wild striking there from Mordino.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Kovingten drops a shoulder and throws a biiiig uppercut that drops Mordino onto his butt! Mordino pops straight back to his feet to convince the referee that he's OK to continue. Mordino throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kovingten connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Mordino's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Mordino - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Kyle Kovingten! A less than humble Kyle Kovingten misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
