Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Bowmer (ranked 5558 p4p, 25779 weight class) and Shisui Uchia (ranked 442 p4p, 570 weight class). Shisui Uchia has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with David Bowmer's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Bowmer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Shisui Uchia! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bowmer darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Bowmer prevents Uchia from standing back up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Uchia is trying to stand back up but Bowmer is controlling him
Uchia is not content to let Bowmer control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Uchia moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Bowmer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Uchia is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bowmer controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Bowmer slaps away a takedown attempt from Uchia, before circling back to the center of the mat. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Uchia has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Bowmer avoids the head kick by Uchia.

Uchia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bowmer sprawls well initially but Uchia persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Bowmer manages to escape and get back to his feet! Uchia fails with the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Uchia tries to clinch up. Bowmer instigates a clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Uchia lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Bowmer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Uchia fails with a takedown attempt. Bowmer is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Uchia. David Bowmer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shisui Uchia. Bowmer throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Uchia has his takedown stuffed and Bowmer counters with a left to the body. Uchia looks winded! Bowmer swats away the attempt to clinch by Uchia. The fight stays on the outside here - Uchia looks like he's thinking about clinching though. It looked like Bowmer was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bowmer scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Uchia explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Uchia tries to clinch there but Bowmer circles away.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Bowmer blocks an elbow strike from Uchia.
Bowmer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Uchia tries to clinch there but Bowmer circles away.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bowmer stands and steps away. Uchia gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Uchia moves in looking to clinch but Bowmer pushes him off. Bowmer is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Uchia's half guard. Uchia gets full guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bowmer wants to pass the guard but Uchia is keeping the position. Uchia seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Bowmer looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Uchia trying to control the position.

Bowmer shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Uchia trying to hold on to Bowmer's head to control him but Bowmer postures up.

Uchia lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Bowmer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Uchia on the ground. Uchia advances position into side control! David Bowmer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Uchia advances nicely into full mount. Uchia is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bowmer can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Uchia wants to control but instead Bowmer manages to regain half guard. Bowmer is trying to maintain the position but Uchia is very close to passing his half guard. Uchia is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Uchia is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bowmer defends it well. Uchia prevents Bowmer from improving his position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Uchia lands a nice short elbow. Uchia is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Bowmer to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Uchia pushes down on Bowmer's leg and manages to get into half guard. Bowmer tries to get to full guard but Uchia has control of the leg. Uchia is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bowmer has managed to free his arm - good work. Bowmer wants to get back to full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bowmer moves into full guard.

Shisui Uchia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Bowmer seems to be working for a kimura but Uchia defends the submission attempt. Uchia manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Bowmer keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Bowmer wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Uchia has him pressed against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Uchia with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
It looks like David Bowmer has been cut. Uchia misses with a knee to the head. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Uchia as Bowmer tries to tie him up. Uchia misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Bowmer.

Uchia loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Uchia decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Uchia pushes Bowmer up against the cage in a clinch. Uchia lands an elbow inside. Bowmer prevents the takedown attempt.
Uchia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bowmer closes the distance and clinches. Uchia prevents Bowmer from breaking the clinch. Uchia turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Bowmer is trying to improve his position. Uchia tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Uchia has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bowmer is looking to regain half guard here but Uchia keeps moving and retains side control. Bowmer gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Bowmer is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Uchia misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bowmer wants to hold on but Uchia pushes him away. Uchia looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Bowmer in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Bowmer wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Uchia.
Uchia wants to control the pace but Bowmer is squirming around nicely. Bowmer can't escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Uchia is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bowmer is surviving well by controlling Uchia's body position as best he can. Uchia looking to secure an arm triangle but Bowmer defends it well. Bowmer is squirming around, avoiding Uchia's attempts to control the action. Uchia stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Uchia fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bowmer. Uchia tries for a takedown but Bowmer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bowmer is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Uchia.
And that's the end of the fight! Shisui Uchia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Uchia has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
