Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sami Holmn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fedor Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sami Holmn!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmn tries to clinch but Emelianenko moves out of range.
Emelianenko swats away the attempt to clinch by Holmn.

It looks like Sami Holmn has been cut.
Emelianenko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Emelianenko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Holmn swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Holmn throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Emelianenko.

Emelianenko closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Holmn is trying to control Emelianenko's posture but Emelianenko avoids it.
Holmn tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Emelianenko tries for a kimura but Holmn is defending well.

Emelianenko passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Holmn!
Emelianenko throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Emelianenko takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Emelianenko cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Holmn looks gassed!

Emelianenko lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Holmn down.

Emelianenko is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Holmn has escaped the position, nice work there.
Holmn manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Holmn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Emelianenko swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Holmn counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Holmn comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Emelianenko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Holmn pinned against the cage. Holmn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Emelianenko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Holmn's waist but Holmn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Emelianenko off to one side.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Holmn as he jumps to the side.
Emelianenko uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Holmn has time to react.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Holmn moves into range and clinches up with Emelianenko.
The is referee keeping an eye on Holmn - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Emelianenko wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Emelianenko tries to pull guard but Holmn won't allow it.

Holmn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Emelianenko shoots in and bounces Holmn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

I would just about give that final round to Sami Holmn.
I think Holmn has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
