Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jan Sleziacik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Phil McKraken! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sleziacik shoots in and gets a takedown into McKraken's guard. Sleziacik throws a big elbow that misses. Sleziacik throws a big elbow that misses. Sleziacik throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McKraken works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Sleziacik wants to control from the top but McKraken keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McKraken wants to get back to his feet but Sleziacik is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Sleziacik drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sleziacik jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sleziacik prevents McKraken from getting back to his feet. That's one minute gone in the round. McKraken thuds a left hand into Sleziacik's body. McKraken lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
McKraken decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Sleziacik is breathing heavily. Sleziacik slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Sleziacik is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. McKraken is looking to escape. Sleziacik seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. McKraken is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
