Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Alfinski (ranked 3554 p4p, 4053 weight class) and Lamar Harris (ranked 356 p4p, 394 weight class). Jerry Alfinski has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jerry Alfinski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lamar Harris! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris doesn't succeed with the takedown and Alfinski counters with a nice uppercut. Harris tries for a takedown but Alfinski circles away easily and Alfinski counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Alfinski rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Harris moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Alfinski definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Harris fails with the takedown and Alfinski counters with a nice body shot. Jerry Alfinski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lamar Harris. Harris doesn't succeed with the takedown and Alfinski counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Harris darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Alfinski tries to get to full guard but Harris has control of the leg. Harris passes to full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Alfinski wants to hold on but Harris pushes him away. Harris wants to control the pace but Alfinski is squirming around nicely. Harris avoids the attempt from Alfinski to control. Alfinski throwing hammer fists to the chest of Harris. What's that going to do exactly? Harris can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Alfinski is looking to escape. Harris content just to control the position here. That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Harris content just to control the position here. Harris is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Alfinski to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Alfinski shrugs it off. Harris looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Harris is standing up, even though he is in mount. Harris shoots in and bounces Alfinski off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Harris tries to free his leg and advance position but Alfinski is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alfinski is controlling Harris's posture. Harris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alfinski swivels though and keeps the full guard. Alfinski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Harris on the ground. Harris wants to control from the top but Alfinski keeps moving. Harris trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Harris is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Alfinski pulls Harris in close to prevent any damage. Alfinski is wriggling around but Harris manages to pass to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Alfinski is looking to control Harris's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Alfinski avoid being mounted? Harris wants to take a breather but Alfinski is having none of it. Alfinski is trying is best to control the position here. Alfinski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Harris decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Harris misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Harris gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Alfinski counters with a left to the body. Alfinski swinging wildly here.

A close round but Lamar Harris will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Harris with a lazy takedown attempt and Alfinski counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Lamar Harris has been cut. Alfinski throws a jab but it's blocked by Harris. Harris changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Alfinski connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Harris momentarily.
Harris changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alfinski tries to avoid it but Harris manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alfinski to the ground. Alfinski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A little feinted left hand from Alfinski on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Harris with a lazy takedown attempt and Alfinski counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Jerry Alfinski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lamar Harris. Alfinski ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Harris moves away. Harris shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Alfinski counter with a right hand. Alfinski just misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harris gets the takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! What's Alfinski going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. Alfinski prevents Harris from improving position.

Harris with a poor takedown and Alfinski counters with a nice uppercut. Harris gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Harris takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Alfinski is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Alfinski throws a series of punches but Harris avoids them all with ease. A telegraphed right hand from Alfinski misses the target. Harris fails with the takedown and Alfinski connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Harris doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Alfinski counter with a right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harris misses with a kick to the body.
Alfinski is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Harris can do to turn this around? Harris has his takedown stuffed and Alfinski counters with a nice uppercut. Harris shoots and misses and Alfinski makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Harris is breathing heavily. Alfinski lands a big uppercut and Harris crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Harris looks OK. Alfinski waves Harris back to his feet!
Harris is rocked!
That has opened up Lamar Harris's cut even more. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Harris fails with the takedown and Alfinski scores with a counter punch that sends Harris to the canvas! Alfinski smells blood - he's punishing Harris with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Harris has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jerry Alfinski! A relieved looking Jerry Alfinski thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
