The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scales shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

and Scales counters with a shoot takedown. Sanchez fights it but they end up in guard.
Sanchez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Scales manages to get himself to full guard.

Sanchez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scales. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Scales shoots for a takedown but Sanchez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sanchez throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Scales stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Scales is stalling here. Sanchez is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Scales seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Sanchez has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
