Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Ali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Mcarthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcarthy takes a swing at Ali's ribcage but misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mcarthy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mcarthy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ali is looking to regain half guard here but Mcarthy keeps moving and retains side control.

Mcarthy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ali with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Mcarthy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mcarthy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mcarthy wants to pass the guard but Ali is keeping the position.

Mcarthy wants to stand but Ali has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Ali has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Mcarthy fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ali sprawls well initially but Mcarthy persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
