Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Abdul Raheem! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juares Dea! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.

Dea jumps guard but Raheem turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Dea tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Raheem engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Raheem has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dea is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Raheem is aware though and is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Raheem controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Raheem pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dea is keeping the position for now. Raheem looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Raheem has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Dea fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Raheem avoids it really well and circles away. Raheem is looking to counter punch. Abdul Raheem has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juares Dea. Dea is looking to clinch but Raheem is avoiding it.
Dea misses with a takedown and Raheem counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Dea throws a wild hook but Raheem just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Dea gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Raheem raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Abdul Raheem! Juares Dea spoke after the fight, saying 'Mentally, I'm feeling more like myself again.'.
