Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bob Vendarra (ranked 3800 p4p, 4330 weight class) and Glass Joe (ranked 439 p4p, 484 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vendarra might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Metallica - Of Wolf And Man. Bob Vendarra has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bob Vendarra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 27 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Glass Joe! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joe throws a leg kick but Vendarra sees it coming and checks it nicely. Vendarra is looking to counter with a body kick. Joe misses with an uppercut
and Joe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Joe tries for a takedown but Vendarra sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Joe moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Joe fails to land the takedown. Vendarra appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Joe misses with a body shot.
Vendarra swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Nice shot lands for Vendarra. Vendarra motions for Joe to come forward. Vendarra throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Joe gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Vendarra counters with a stiff right hand. Bob Vendarra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Glass Joe. Vendarra throws a series of punches but Joe avoids them all with ease. Joe scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Joe tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joe tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Joe has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Vendarra is looking to reverse the position. Vendarra wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Joe wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vendarra, who protects the arm well. Vendarra tries to bench press Joe off him but Joe keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Vendarra is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Joe is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Vendarra keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Vendarra tries to buck Joe off but he can't manage it. Joe connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. BOOM! Joe connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Joe looking to control but Vendarra is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Vendarra wants to control but Joe is having none of it. Vendarra is trying to stand up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joe lands a big elbow. Vendarra is trying to stand. Vendarra is trying desperately to improve position. Vendarra really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Joe jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Vendarra manages to avoid the submission attempt. Vendarra is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Vendarra takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Joe wants to control but Vendarra is keeping him busy. A lull in the action here as Joe stalls from top position. Joe tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Vendarra wants to control but Joe postures up. Joe thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Vendarra is trying to escape and get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Glass Joe dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Joe goes for a double leg but Vendarra avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vendarra continues to drive forward. Vendarra checks a leg kick. A quick step to the side and Vendarra tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Joe darts in looking for a takedown but Vendarra gets double underhooks and turns Joe into the cage. Vendarra feinted there with a counter leg kick. Joe shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Vendarra counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Glass Joe has been cut. Bob Vendarra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Glass Joe. Joe with a lazy takedown attempt and Vendarra counters with a stiff right hand.
Joe is rocked! Vendarra drops Joe with a naaaaasty hook - Joe is in real trouble here! Vendarra dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
