Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bea Mason (ranked 20709 p4p, 5099 weight class) and Valentin Hadjiev (ranked 741 p4p, 582 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bea Mason! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Valentin Hadjiev! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and George Francis.

Hadjiev gets tackled into the cage by Mason. Mason maintains the clinch. Mason turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mason manages to end up in side control. Hadjiev throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Mason changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hadjiev looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mason throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Hadjiev sneaks back into half guard. Hadjiev is trying to stand.

Mason is looking to advance position but Hadjiev won't allow it. Mason wants to take a breather but Hadjiev is having none of it. Mason is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hadjiev is just riding it out for now. Mason eventually gives up the hold. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mason is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hadjiev sees it coming and defends easily. Hadjiev knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Still in half guard, Mason seems content to control. Hadjiev is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mason pulls his head out easily. Mason is trying to control. Hadjiev wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mason is trying to work for a kimura but Hadjiev is defending well.
Mason is stalling here. Hadjiev is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Mason seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Hadjiev has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Mason is trying to get back to half guard. Mason is working hard here to advance position. Mason takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hadjiev landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Mason is looking to reverse the position. Mason can't do much from the bottom here. Hadjiev advances nicely into full mount. Mason really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Valentin Hadjiev dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Hadjiev doesn't succeed with the takedown and Mason connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Mason throws a sloppy head kick and Hadjiev moves out of range easily. Mason stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mason wants it to stay on the feet. Hadjiev just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromMason. Mason clinches with his opponent.

He's almost out here... but no, Mason gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hadjiev is looking to regain half guard here but Mason keeps moving and retains side control. Hadjiev keeps trying to improve his position. Mason wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hadjiev keeps working.

Mason tries to get to his feet but Hadjiev is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Mason in his guard. Hadjiev tries to land a sweep but no joy. Valentin Hadjiev has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mason loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Mason stops Hadjiev from standing up. Mason pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hadjiev is keeping the position for now. Hadjiev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mason trying to control the position from guard on top but Hadjiev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hadjiev wants to stand but Mason is controlling the position. Hadjiev looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Mason puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Hadjiev looks like he's trying to stand up.
Mason maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Hadjiev could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Mason has cracked it and Hadjiev is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Mason!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bea Mason! Bea Mason really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Brooklyn Apothecary logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
