Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mathew Anderson (ranked 25843 p4p, 4673 weight class) and Trace Finlay (ranked 0 p4p, 101 weight class). Finlay has chosen Hot Girl Bummer as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mathew Anderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Trace Finlay! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Finlay throws a series of strikes that have Anderson backpedaling.
Finlay throws the kick towards the body but Anderson avoids it. Finlay looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Anderson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Finlay to the ground. Anderson is now in Finlay's guard. Finlay wriggles free and stands up. Anderson displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
It looks like Trace Finlay has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Anderson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Finlay gets a double leg takedown into Anderson's guard. Anderson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Finlay off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Finlay fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Anderson is out of range. Finlay gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Finlay fails to land the takedown. Finlay clinches up with Anderson and pushes him back against the cage.

Anderson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Anderson pushing down on Finlay's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Anderson trying to control from half guard but Finlay is working away. Anderson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Anderson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Finlay is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Anderson pulls his head out easily. Anderson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Finlay tries to clinch up but Anderson circles away and keeps his distance. Anderson seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. A punch combination from Finlay misses. Finlay gets caught napping as Anderson dives in and scores a takedown. Finlay manages to retain guard. Anderson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Anderson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Anderson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Anderson trying to control the position from guard on top but Finlay is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Finlay looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Finlay looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Finlay! Anderson is looking to reverse the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Anderson wants to get back to his feet but Finlay drags him back down. Finlay goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Anderson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Finlay's guard! Nice work there by Anderson! Anderson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Finlay works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Anderson stands up and waves to Finlay to follow him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Finlay gets caught flat footed, as Anderson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Finlay wants to control the position but Anderson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Anderson wants to take a breather but Finlay is having none of it. Finlay on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Anderson is controlling the pace.
Finlay is not content to let Anderson control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A slapping body kick lands there for Anderson. Finlay shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Anderson defends it nicely. Mathew Anderson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Finlay gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Anderson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Mathew Anderson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Finlay looking for a guillotine here but Anderson defends easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson wants to control from the top but Finlay keeps moving. Finlay is breathing heavily.

Anderson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Finlay manages to circle out of the way. Anderson drives through with a takedown into Finlay's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Anderson connects with a couple of short punches. Anderson throws a big elbow that misses. Finlay had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Anderson defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Anderson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Anderson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Finlay's guard. Anderson scoring with punches to the head and body. Anderson gets to his feet. Finlay looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Mathew Anderson is winning the standup battle so far. Anderson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Finlay! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Anderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Finlay keeps working.

Anderson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Finlay manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Finlay not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Anderson actively working from the bottom here.

Anderson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Finlay can do to turn this around? Anderson is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Finlay presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Finlay wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Anderson has him pressed against the cage. Anderson gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Finlay can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Anderson controls the pace. Anderson drops back looking for a leg! Finlay is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Finlay manages to kick Anderson off! Anderson jumps back into Finlay's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Finlay avoids the head kick by Anderson.
Anderson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Finlay. That did some damage! Anderson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Anderson tries to counter with a takedown but Finlay is quick to defend against it. Finlay tries to sprawl but Anderson drives through with a takedown into half guard. Anderson slows the pace down in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Finlay looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Finlay wants to control but Anderson is keeping busy.
Anderson wants to work for an arm triangle but Finlay is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Finlay's head. Anderson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Finlay is looking to get back to is feet but Anderson passes into side control.
Finlay tries to bench press Anderson off him but Anderson keeps the position. Anderson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Anderson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Finlay is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Anderson is looking to take a break and control but Finlay is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Anderson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Anderson working the ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Mathew Anderson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Anderson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
