PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Christophe Duggary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arsenio Capac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duggary comes into the arena with Remember The Name Remix blaring out of the sound system. Christophe Duggary could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Arsenio Capac's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christophe Duggary!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Arsenio Capac!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duggary catches Capac napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Capac to the canvas!


It looks like Arsenio Capac has been cut.
Capac really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duggary. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Duggary pushes down on Capac's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Duggary is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Capac has managed to free his arm - good work.

Duggary is working for a submission of some sort.
Duggary wants to free his trapped foot but Capac is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Duggary is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Capac is just riding it out for now. Duggary eventually gives up the hold.

Duggary is working for a kimura but Capac is defending it quite comfortably.
Capac is looking to escape.
Duggary moves into full mount! Capac won't be happy about that!

Duggary is going olschool here, as he tries to force Capac to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Capac shrugs it off.

Duggary jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Capac manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Capac is pushing Duggary's head away, looking to escape. Duggary manages to hold on to the position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Capac is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Duggary tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Duggary tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Duggary has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Capac is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Duggary is controlling him well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Duggary lands a nice hook to Capac's body. Capac takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Capac misses with a two punch combination.
Duggary fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Capac wants to clinch.

Duggary drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Duggary jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Duggary avoids the head kick by Capac.
A swing and a miss from Capac.
Capac looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Capac throws a series of punches but Duggary moves out of range.
Capac walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Duggary darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Duggary stops Capac from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Duggary passes the guard and advances to mount!

Duggary working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Duggary has hold of Capac's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Capac manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Capac is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Duggary looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Capac wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Duggary closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Duggary has hold of Capac's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Capac seems comfortable defending it but Duggary has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Capac is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Capac is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Duggary couldn't care less - he's delighted!
